Greek Festival Coming to Daytona Beach

The 33rd Annual Greek Festival is planned for Nov. 12-15 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 129 N. Halifax Ave., Daytona Beach. Each year the festival gives visitors an opportunity to experience authentic Greek food, dancing, music, and get caught up in the traditions, culture, art, and faith of the Greeks.

The Greek Festival has always featured live music by bands from around the country and authentic Greek dancers. This year, there's a new addition: lamb sandwiches "to go" - also selections of Greek cuisine, featuring Gyro carving stations and trays of prepared foods to purchase and enjoy at home. This is one of central Florida's largest ethnic festivals, and is held on the Intracoastal waterway.

Take a tour of historical St. Demetrios and learn about Greek religious traditions, or stroll and enjoy shopping at a wide variety of participating merchants.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Nov. 12-14 and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 15 with a free shuttle from the Ocean Center from 4 to 10 p.m. Nov. 13-14. Admission is $2; $1 admission 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 12-13. For more information, call 386-252-6012.
