Daytona Beach Cancer Center under Construction

The Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center has broken ground on the future location of the region’s first comprehensive cancer center, located on the campus of the new medical center facility off Interstate 95.

The center, which will be complete by mid-fall, will be designed to eliminate a patient’s multiple trips to various locations by offering all treatments in one, easy-to-access location. The new center will feature a Radiation Oncology Clinic, which will offer patients HD radiation treatment, Stereotatic Radiosurgery to treat brain disorders in a one-day session, HD Brachytherapy, a high-tech treatment for prostate cancer, digital imaging and treatment delivery.

The new center will have a staffed Cancer Care Navigator to assist patients in navigating their way through the entire process of cancer treatment. In addition, an Oncology Social Worker will be available to counsel patients and their families emotionally and financially through their treatment. Patients will have access to an education library featuring an interactive touch screen computer from the Cancer Help Network as well as informational DVD’s and videos.

Other amenities will include a reflection pond, a café and an appearance center, with wigs, prosthetics and specialized clothing to aid and comfort patients during their recovery process.
